"I have come home at last!" This is my real country! I belong here. This is the land I have been looking for all my life, though I never know it till now...Come further up, come further in!"
~ C. S. Lewis The Last Battle
Hello friends!
Hello friends!
Tonight is the breath before the plunge. 2014 feels
like I just climbed to the top of a summit to find that a whole new range of
mountains, rivers and forests lay before me. There’s nothing left to do but
keep going forward! I have recently entered the working world and have found
that it is an entity entirely unto its own. What an un-intuitive system! Simply
the act of assimilating into the work force from being a student is adventure
enough – with all of its own twists and turns. Yet I am even more blessed as I
have received my wish to continue travelling for business, and will begin this
new journey to many new places in America I’ve never seen before starting
tomorrow. It is only right that I should document these new places as I forge
West and see exactly the wide diversity my country is known for. Thus, this
blog will not have the same structure as my previous ones as I will no longer
be in class and my travel schedule will not be as set-in-stone or predictive.
Nevertheless, I hope you enjoy it and vicariously venture with me as explore
new places and stretch my own comfort zone.
I titled this blog after C. S. Lewis’ quote because
it speaks of the vivacity of life and how we are meant to go and explore it to
its full. Though this quote is really in reference to heaven, and how there we
will have full access and live in a new earth without brokenness, pain and
suffering, the warm invitation at the end really captures the call I hear right
now as I am preparing to leave. I do not know what this year holds or what places
I’ll see or who I’ll meet, but God is calling me to follow and follow I will.
